Pokémon GO Panel At Comic-Con Reveals The Leaders Of Teams Valor, Mystic, And Instinct

During a recent Pokémon GO panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, California, Niantic CEO John Hanke revealed a lot of new details that players can look forward to in the future. [Thanks, PokeBeach.]

First off, Niantic did confirm that a trading system is currently being worked on and that trading is a top priority, in addition to releasing the game in more countries. They also addressed the topic of Legendary Pokémon and Pokémon from Generation 2 and onwards, saying that those will be implemented over the course of months and years as the game is continually updated. Niantic commented that only one tenth of the features they have planned are actually in the game right now, and went on to add that “This is only the beginning.”

Next, it was revealed that Pokémon Centers will be added sometime down the line, as will customization options for PokéStops. It was also said that a plan for Pokémon breeding has been discussed, but nothing has been worked on in regards to it yet.

Niantic went on to say that they consider Pokémon GO the official Pokémon MMO that fans have been asking for for years. They also confirmed the rumored Eevee name trick that had been discovered recently. For those wanting to evolve their Eevee into a specific evolution, you need only to rename the Pokémon to Rainer for Vaporeon, Sparky for Jolteon, and Pyro for Flareon.

The official artwork for the three team Captains was also revealed at the panel, giving us a look at Candela of Team Valor, Blanche of Team Mystic, and Spark of Team Instinct. Niantic explained that the leaders first appeared as silhouettes in the game upon its initial launch simply because the artwork wasn’t finalized at that point in time. They went on to say that the three characters will have more involvement in the game as time goes on.

Lastly, though there were rumors before the panel started that a Legendary Pokémon would be available to catch at Comic-Con, this unfortunately did not prove true.

Pokémon GO is available for iOS and Android devices.
