Last week, Japan saw the release of a remake, a couple ports, and a crossover with Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 on Switch, Secret of Mana, and A Certain Magical Virtual-On. Japanese sales tracker Media Create released the latest video game software and hardware sales data from the week of February 12 through February 18, 2018.

At #1 this week is Monster Hunter: World, once again, for the fourth week in a row as it maintains its top spot with 85,322 units sold on PS4. The game is approaching its 2 million milestone in retail in Japan with a total of 1,836,291.

Secret of Mana’s remake was released last week and it debuted at #2 with 36,042 units sold on PS4 and #7 with 17,947 units sold on PS Vita for a total of 53,989 units sold between the two. At #3 we have Splatoon 2 with 21,815 units sold on Switch. #4 is the next new release of the week in the PS Vita otome game Idolish7: Twelve Fantasia, which debuted with 21,480 units, which is quite impressive for a PS Vita game, let alone a PS Vita otome game.

#5 of the week we have Dynasty Warriors 9 at 21,180 units sold on PS4. As for other new titles of the week, A Certain Magical Virtual-On debuted at #8 and #16 with 17,938 units sold on PS4 and 9,284 units sold on PS Vita for a total of 27,222 units sold between the two versions.

Bayonetta Ultimate Climax Edition debuted at #13 with 11,694 units sold on Switch and Bayonetta 2 followed at #14 with 9,532 units sold on Switch. The original Bayonetta released back in October 2009 with 135,242 units sold on Ps3 and 64,325 units sold on Xbox 360. The Wii U-exclusive Bayonetta 2 sold 38,828 copies back in September 2014 for its Japanese debut.

The PlayStation 4 was the best-selling hardware with 41,496 units sold. Combined with the PS4 Pro’s 8,006 units sold last week, the PS4 family sold 49,502 consoles. The Nintendo Switch followed with 39,303 units sold to put it at 3,716,854 units sold in Japan if we go by Media Create’s numbers.
