Deep Silver has provided an update on Shenmue III’s exclusivity arrangements on PCs. The official website’s Faq section now addresses the issue in its Preorders area. While yesterday’s appearance at the E3 2019 PC Gaming Show noted it would be an Epic Games Store exclusive, the official website says, “Shenmue 3 will be released on Steam in the future.”
While the Steam release is confirmed, Deep Silver has not noted what this will mean for Kickstarter PC copies. When asked about it, the official Twitter account is repeating the message, “All questions regarding the Kickstarter campaign should be directed to [email protected].” The Kickstarter page itself only mentions a PC copy of the game.
As for physical copies, Deep Silver has confirmed that any PC physical copies will come with an Epic Games Store code. This was brought up in two responses on Twitter. The account noted, “PC Physical copies will come with a code for the Epic Games Store.”
Shenmue III will come to the PlayStation 4 and PC on November 19, 2019.
