Fafnir Will Be One Of The New Persona 5 Royal Personas

The official, Japanese Persona 5 Twitter account has revealed a new Persona for Joker. However, this character isn’t new to the Shin Megami Tensei series. Among the new Persona 5 Royal Personas will be Fafnir.

Fafnir has been a part of the Shin Megami Tensei series since Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei on the Famicom. The character appeared in Revelations: Persona, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. (In the latter two, it was a Strength Arcana character.) However, the Fafnir Persona 5 Royal appearance is based upon the dragon’s look in Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers and Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE.

You can see the Fusion video resulting in Fafnir below.

Persona 5 Royal will appear in Japan as Persona 5 The Royal on October 31, 2019 on the PlayStation 4. It will make its worldwide debut in Spring 2020. New trailers for it appeared back on August 30, 2019.
