Where to Find Inkay in The Indigo Disk

Players can find Inkay as part of the Blueberry Pokedex in the Terrarium. Before evolving it into Malamar in The Indigo Disk, you’ll want to catch an Inkay for yourself. You can often find them in the Coastal Biome of the Terrarium at the Blueberry Academy. That is the biome found in the northeastern corner of the location.

It is usually in the waters of the Coastal Biome, so be sure to look at the many rivers and lakes that dot this particular biome. It is quite small but often flies slightly above the water, so it can be a bit easier to find than some other Pokemon near the water. Once you catch one, you are now ready to evolve this Pokemon.

How to Evolve Inkay Into Malamar

Inkay evolves into the same evolution as always in The Indigo Disk, the fellow Dark and Psychic-type Malamar. If you want this menacing Pokemon for yourself, you will have to use the same method that has been used since the Pokémon’s introduction in Gen 6. First, you need to make sure Inkay is level 30 or higher.

This shouldn’t be too much of an issue if you catch an Inkay in the wild. Once it is 30 or higher, level it up one time, either through battle or using some candy, and then flip your Nintendo Switch upside down while this is happening. This is similar to the previous Nintendo 3DS mechanic. Leveling it up while the system is literally upside down will allow Inkay to evolve into Malamar.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet and The Indigo Disk DLC are available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
