Using Rock Smash on glowing blocks in Pokemon Pokopia sometimes awards Mysterious Slates instead of things like relics or fossils. They’re clearly parts of a puzzle, but how do you put it together to find answers? Well, the good news is you can get to work on it as soon as you get Rock Smash in the game to access a hidden area.
How do I use the Mysterious Slates in Pokemon Pokopia?
Basically, you need to Rock Smash your way into some ruins below the city streets of Withered Wasteland to start assembling the Mysterious Slates puzzle. If you’ve tried placing these blocks in the world prior to finding the right spot, you’ll see the Unown alphabet is on the back. There is actually a wall that lets you assemble the mural piece-by-piece practically right away.
Here are some screenshots I took showing you where to go:

If you smashed through the stones blocking the road to the north of the Pokemon Center in Pokemon Pokopia, you’ll see a suspicious wall with more stones in front of it. Bust them down, then walk down the staircase inside, You’ll find a wall of Unown blocks there. What you need to do is take the pieces you’ve found and place them in the spot where they belong to restore the mural. (Holding ZL, then left or right on the D-pad to rotate to see the symbol is a huge help.) If you place it in the correct spot, you’ll see a brief glimmer and hear a chime noting it’s a success.

Since finding these Mysterious Slates in Pokemon Pokopia all comes down to luck, it will take a while. But at least it’s easy to keep parts together and from cluttering up your inventory!
Pokemon Pokopia is available for the Switch 2.
