miHoYo is working with multiple entities in Japan to promote the Genshin Impact characters Alhaitham and Kaveh with new Codename merchandise campaigns. KFC Japan had previously teased a collaboration event in early May 2026, but Animate also separately revealed that it will launch a sale fair for a whole month.
The Genshin Impact Animate Fair ~Codename A~ will run at Animate outlets across Japan from June 20 to July 20, 2026. The first day will also have the sale of merchandise featuring Alhaitham and Kaveh, with prices ranging from ¥550 (~$3.45) for a metal clear file to ¥4,400 (~$27.60) for a big square towel featuring either character. People can also receive a random illustration card for every ¥2,200 (~$13.80) spent on Genshin Impact goods.

Meanwhile, the KFC side of the collaboration in Japan also had its details revealed. Its campaign will have the title Codename K, and it will run from June 10 to 30, 2026. This campaign will feature two packs containing both real food and in-game items priced at ¥1,080 (~$6.80) or ¥1,410 (~$8.85), and KFC Japan will also open pre-orders a week ahead from June 3, 2026.
Those who have made online orders of these packs can also join lotteries to win additional merchandise, including B2-sized hanging tapestries and papers signed by Yuichiro Umehara and Yuma Uchida, the respective Japanese voice actors for Alhaitham and Kaveh.
miHoYo has also published a new trailer featuring the KFC collaboration campaign on the official Japanese YouTube account for Genshin Impact:
These collaboration campaigns are based on Genshin Impact, the video game available worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices.
