We’ll be playing the new Onimusha game sooner than expected. The Onimusha: Way of the Sword release date is now September 4, 2026. Back during Summer Game Fest 2026, Capcom initially suggested it wouldn’t show up until September 25, 2026

The Onimusha: Way of the Sword release date adjustment marks the second time Capcom’s done this in 2026. It did the same with Pragmata. That ended up being a smaller update, however. Its original launch date was April 24, 2026, and we ended up seeing it a week earlier on April 17, 2026.

Capcom also noted that pre-orders for Onimusha: Way of the Sword are live on storefronts now. That’s available in a $69.99 standard and $74.99 Steelbook edition physically, with the latter including the special case. Digitally, there are $79.99 Digital Deluxe and $89.99 Premium Deluxe Editions. The Deluxe version comes with a Deluxe Kit DLC add on, and the Premium Deluxe offers both the Deluxe Kit and a Premium Kit. The two pre-order bonuses are a Lion Dog charm that will offer an unknown buff to an ability and a Sealed Curse sword cosmetic.

The Onimusha: Way of the Sword release date is now September 4, 2026 release date. It will appear on the Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and a demo is available.
