Square Enix shared some new screenshots for Final Fantasy Resonance that highlight how the Vision characters we can equip will work in the game. They focus on showing Lasswell with Tronn, as well as Rain with some of the people he can equip as supports. All of the ones shown are original characters and ones not pulled from other Final Fantasy titles like Cloud.
The movesets of characters like Rain, Lasswell, and Fina can be affected by the Visions they equip in Final Fantasy Resonance. By building up a Rank with them, we can permanently add their abilities to a person’s moveset to determine their options in-battle.
In the case of the Tronn character, one of the Final Fantasy Resonance Visions, he’s an original Black Mage available in FF Brave Exvius who functions in a Breaker role here. His elements are fire, ice, and lightning, and he has a Hibernal Fury Resonance that lets him deal ice damage five times to random opponents. The screenshot for him shows at a zero star rank, someone can equip him and gain access to Fire, Blizzard, Thunder, Blind, Stagger Power +30%, and MP +10%. However, at a one-star rank Fira, Blizzara, Thundera, Poison, and Victor’s Respite show up. In a screen where he’s equipped to Lasswell, we see that his Mastery Rank with him is at zero and he won’t reach the next rank until 10 MRP are earned.
With the Rain screenshot, that seems designed to confirm some of the original Visions who will appear as characters and their roles and elements. On that screen, we see that he’s got Leah, a Medic with holy and healing affinities, equipped and at a one-star rank. The other folks in the screenshot are Tronn, the Saboteur Amelia, the commando Camille, the Sentinel Wilhelm, and the Breaker Aileen. Both Amelia and Camille have earth elemental affinity. Amelia is also tied to fire-based attacks, while Camille seems to have water-based ones.
Here are all three of the new screenshots in a gallery.

This comes alongside another bit of news tied to Final Fantasy Resonance. The PC version of the game is Steam Deck verified ahead of launch. However, the Steam listing also noted that it will feature Denuvo DRM and a EULA in order to play that version of the JRPG.
Final Fantasy Resonance will come to the Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 22, 2026. Final Fantasy Brave Exvius appeared on mobile devices between 2015 and 2025.
