We got a release date for Fate/Extra Record during the State of Play Japan September 2026 presentation. It will launch worldwide on January 28, 2027. This follows Aniplex taking the reins on publishing. Marvelous and XSEED will handle it in the US.
As a reminder, Fate/Extra Record is a remake of the PSP JRPG that showed up worldwide. Players create an avatar and fight in the Holy Grail War alongside Servants like Saber, Archer, and Caster. After picking one, you work your way through the Moon Cell Automaton’s competition for a wish. This story is a spin-off that takes place outside of the main Fate/ series storyline.
Here’s the full new trailer showing off Fate/Extra Record gameplay. While it mainly focuses on combat and showing off those three main Servants fighting alongside our avatar, there are some teasers for the story as well.
This comes after multiple delays for the game. It was first announced and shown in 2020. It was supposed to appear in 2025. However, various issues meant multiple delays into 2027.
