More On Viz’s Upcoming Pokémon Black & White Manga

Recommended Videos

When we reported that Viz were publishing a Pokémon Black/White manga in the U.S. last week, some people asked if it was what goes by the name Pokémon Special in Japan. To answer that question, yes, Pokémon Black/White is the same thing as the ongoing Japanese Pokémon Special series.

Manga blog, Kuriousity, also got in touch with Viz to ask some questions their readers wanted to have answered, which yielded some interesting additional information that you can read an excerpt from below:

“Viz Media’s editions of Pokémon B/W will be a new format from their usual Pokémon releases with each volume being approximately 80-96 pages each to accommodate the content available. Because of this they are being sold at a lower price point of only $4.99/US. They’ll be releasing two volumes at a time — the first two in July, and then volumes 3 and 4 in November.”

In case you missed it, you can check out the full list of Viz licenses for the latter half of this year in last week’s report.
