Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny Wades To North America In September

While it was announced for localization many months ago, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny for Wii and PlayStation 3 didn’t have a release date until today. Today, Natsume announced that the game will be released in North America on September 27th.

Along with the release date came a few other details about the game, such as localized names for the main characters. In the English version, Azel and Sonia are named Aden and Sonja (that said, you can rename them). The two are friends and live on Fenith Island, until they wake up trapped in the same body one day. Fenith Island has also disappeared, replaced by another island populated by strangers.

Tides of Destiny gives you access to a giant named Ymir, who you can ride. Using Ymir, you can explore the sea and pull submerged islands out from under the water. The map displays areas where new islands can be accessed in a different colour.

There are around 30 such islands in the game, and are the game’s version of caves, with different seasons in effect on each island. Depending on the season and island, you’ll be able to plant and grow different kinds of crops.
