Hideo Kojima Would Like USC Students To Design DLC For Future Games

Recommended Videos

Metal Gear Solid creator, Hideo Kojima, recently gave a 90-minute talk at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, detailing his growth as a game developer, showing off features from his development team’s upcoming “Fox Engine” (more on that here), and encouraging students to pursue their creative vision.

Gamasutra have provided a summary of the lecture, which contains a number of details regarding the Fox Engine. Kojima says the aim of the Fox Engine is to allow designers to create stages without having to rely on programmers, and added that, in the future, he’d like to provide the engine to USC students to design stages for DLC in future games.

One of his development team’s members, Kojima explained, is a USC graduate. Konami’s U.S. branch appear interested in implementing the Fox Engine as part of USC’s curriculum as well.
