Vergil will be playable in DmC Devil May Cry as downloadable content, Capcom announced this morning.

Shortly after its release, Capcom will release a downloadable “Vergil’s Downfall” story for DmC Devil May Cry, which will cost 720 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and $8.99 on PlayStation Network. Vergil will have his own storyline, gameplay, weapons, combos, enemies and locations.

However, if you pre-order DmC Devil May Cry from GameStop or EB Canada, you’ll get a download code for the Vergil’s Downfall DLC for free.

DmC Devil May Cry will be released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 15th, 2013. A PC release will follow shortly after.

Note: Capcom point out in their press release that the Vergil DLC is not on the game disc.
