Skullgirls Developers Form New Studio Lab Zero Games

Recommended Videos

Following news of yesterday’s massive update patch to fighting game, Skullgirls, comes another piece of news. Reverge Labs, the game’s developer, laid off the entire Skullgirls development team in June of this year. This team has now gone on to form its own studio, named Lab Zero Games.

You’re probably wondering what that means for the Skullgirls property. It turns out, Skullgirls is safe and sound—the property is owned by the game’s publisher, Autumn Games, who are “fully behind” Lab Zero Games, according to a notice on the developer’s website. Autumn and Lab Zero will collaborate on all future Skullgirls-related projects.

That having been said, the lay-offs have had a few side effects. Work on the PC version of Skullgirls has temporarily halted and the first intended DLC character for the game infinitely delayed. Lab Zero say they intend to resume work on these as soon as possible.
