Ultra Street Fighter IV Adds Two New Battle Mechanics

Capcom have shared new information on Ultra Street Fighter IV, highlight a couple of the changes that you’ll see in the latest update to the Street Fighter IV series. The first is something called “Ultra Combo Double”.

Unlike previous versions of Street Fighter IV, where you could only choose between Ultra 1 or Ultra 2, now you’ll have a third option—the Ultra Combo Double. This will allow you to perform either of the two Ultras, but each one will do less damage than usual.

The second new mechanic is a Red Focus Attack. It strengthens your Focus Attack at the cost of your Super Meter, but it can absorb multiple attacks, unlike the regular Focus Attack, which can only absorb a single hit.

Ultra Street Fighter IV will be released in early 2014 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
