Sega Sets Up Virtua Fighter 20th Anniversary Website

Sega have erected a 20th anniversary website for their Virtua Fighter series of fighting games. A blog post on the site states that it will gradually be updated with a variety of information and content pertaining to the series’ history.

While Virtua Fighter itself hasn’t seen a brand new game in some time, the series still has a presence. Yakuza 5 allowed players to play a version of Virtua Fighter 2 within the game, and with support for online multiplayer at that.

Meanwhile, Virtua Fighter staples Sarah and Jacky Bryant are playable as guest characters in Tecmo Koei’s Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, and last year, Sega released an updated version of Virtua Fighter 5, titled Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown.
