November U.S. Sales: New Consoles, Familiar Games

While PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both saw successful launches in the U.S. last month, neither system’s launch exclusives made it into the top-10 best-selling games of the month, which encompassed a variety of familiar multiplatform titles, ranging from Call of Duty: Ghosts to Grand Theft Auto V and Just Dance 2014. November’s rankings, courtesy of the NPD Group, can be found below.

The PlayStation 4 was the best-selling platform for the month, with Xbox One sales coming in second. That said, the NPD Group did point out that attach rate for the PlayStation 4 was stronger than both PS2 and PS3 before it.

What’s interesting is, if you look at the above list of best-sellers, Just Dance and Skylanders appears to have done better on Xbox One than PS4 for some reason. In the case of Just Dance 2014, one could possibly attribute this to the inclusion of Kinect, which may have enticed buyers to pick the Xbox One version over PlayStation 4.
