Ace Attorney, DuckTales And Dead Rising 3 All Did Well For Capcom

Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, Resident Evil: Revelations and Dead Rising 3 have all achieved their projected sales, Capcom said in a financial results report last night.

Additionally, Monster Hunter 4, as previously announced, has surpassed the company’s estimates by a large margin, while online game Monster Hunter Frontier G is “performing steadily”.

Capcom also stated that DuckTales Remastered, developed by WayForward Technologies for the western market, performed better than expected.

Finally, browser game Onimusha Soul is a hit in Taiwan, having debuted at the top of the charts, and is helping Capcom establish a foothold in the region, while Smurfs’ Village is maintaining its popularity and “providing stable income”.

Not all titles performed as admirably, however. Capcom say that sales of Lost Planet 3 were below expectations in part due to “intensifying competition in the European and North American markets”. Meanwhile, mobile games did not achieve the expected level of sales, due in part to “lack of major titles and the fierce competition”.

As a result of the above, Capcom’s net sales increased to 75,221 million yen (up 3.5% from the same term last year) in the 9 months of fiscal year ending March 31st, 2014. Meanwhile, operating income decreased to 8,521 million yen (down 13.4 % from the same term last year), while net income for the current period decreased to 5,957 million yen (down 10.3 % from the same term last year).
