Midora Will Be Ported To Consoles Regardless Of Stretch Goals

Midora, the indie action-adventure game inspired by The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, is in development for PC, and also has Kickstarter stretch goals for other platforms such as Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Vita.

However, developer Epic Minds recently noted on the project’s Kickstarter page that Midora will be released for consoles regardless of whether it makes its stretch goals or not. “If we don’t reach those stretch goals, that only means the game will be ported later,” the developer stated in an update.

They explained, “With the extra money from stretch goals however, we can hire a few people to have the game ported while we’re making progress, which in turn means releasing the game on consoles sooner, or even allowing us to release simultaneously.”

The stretch goal for the Wii U and 3DS port of the game is $80,000. Stretch goals beyond that, starting at $100,000, involve ports to other platforms.

Midora is currently slightly over halfway toward its base funding goal of $60,000.
