Here’s How You Equip Power-Ups For Super Smash Bros. 3DS’ Smash Run Mode

The Nintendo 3DS version of Super Smash Bros. has a 4-player mode where you explore a labyrinth, collect power-ups and then battle it out with the other three players. Titled Smash Run, this mode allows you to select power-ups to take with you to improve your performance.

On Miiverse, director Masahiro Sakurai showed off the screen where you equip your power-ups, and once again, this looks somewhat similar in concept to Kid Icarus: Uprising, which is another of Sakurai’s games and shares a number of UI elements in common with Smash.

“Here’s the place you equip powers for Smash Run,” Sakurai wrote. “Pack a good mix of them like a lunch box, and off you go! You can change how your powers are set up by touching their icons and dragging them.”

He added, “If you hit the X Button, it will randomly fill up the remaining weight allowance with powers. You can keep changing the line-up as many times as you please. The level of a power is proportional to its strength, number of uses, and weight. Organizing them might be easier if you label your favorite powers with a ★.”

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS will be available this October in North America and Europe.
