MMORPG Black Desert Online will go into open beta in Korea on December 17th. (Thanks, Steparu) The game will be free-to-play and will be supported by a Cash Shop system.

A pre-download for the game will be available on December 10th, and an early character creation tool will be available on December 12th. Given how detailed the character creation in Black Desert can be, it’s nice that beta players will be able to spend a little time creating their character before the beta kicks off.

Black Desert is slated for release in the West, too. Publisher Daum have plans to make the game available Western territories, but no release window for the game has been announced.
