Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse will be released for Wii U on Christmas—December 25th—in North America, WayForward Technologies have announced.

The Wii U version will feature HD character portraits by Azure Striker Gunvolt developer Inti Creates, Off-TV play, support for the Classic Controller Pro and Wii U Pro Controller, an unlockable “Pirate-Mode,” and multiple endings.

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse is already available on the Nintendo 3DS, where it debuted in October. A European release for the game is planned as well, but a release date has not yet been finalized.
