Indivisible Designer Mike Z Explains Why The Game Has A Vague Release Window, And More

Recommended Videos

Indivisible and Skullgirls lead designer Mike Z recently appeared on a podcast, talking about why the game’s release date was delayed to a vague ‘first half of 2019’, who the new staff members are, and more. [Thanks, Kai Kennedy!]

Here are the highlights:

  • The game will likely release in mid-2019, as Lab Zero isn’t familiar with submitting the game to Nintendo, the fact that the game engine is new to Nintendo Switch, as well as physical version production factors.

  • The new lead level designer is Matthew Kumar, who is familiar with Metroidvania design, and the new lead writer is Brandon Sheffield from Gamasutra.

  • Indivisible ended up being a bigger game in terms of story scope than they thought it would be, especially as Lab Zero has not made a game of this type before.

  • The reason why more people were needed was to have people who could focus on each particular aspect of the game. Mike Z admits that he’s a bit of a bottleneck since a lot of things go through him as a final stage.

  • Finding the right ‘voice’ for Ajna in terms of dialogue was very tough.

Indivisible is coming to the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC in 2018.
