Today at the Pokemon Press Conference 2019, Game Freak and The Pokemon Company announced Pokémon Masters, a smartphone title co-developed with DeNA that is set to launch on iOS and Android in calendar year 2019.

Conceptualized by Ken Sugimori, Pokemon Masters will bring together Trainers across the series into one smartphone game, including Trainers who were playable characters in past games.

While more details will be released in the future, some gameplay was shown off, with Brock, Misty, Rosa, and Blue appearing as NPC characters fighting using their partner Pokemon. It seems that when using special moves the Trainers themselves will also have special animations.

Pokemon Masters is coming to iOS and Android in 2019.
