Pokemon Sword And Shield Has Open-World Wild Areas

Recommended Videos

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, the latest games in the Pokemon series, are getting something brand-new in the form of Wild Areas. These are open areas between cities and towns where players are able to freely explore and encounter Pokemon.

The Pokemon that appear in the Wild Areas will differ depending by weather, and obviously there are various ways to find them, such as encountering them on land or water, or fishing.

Additionally, players have full control of the camera when in Wild Areas. There will also be online functionality when in Wild Areas.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are in development for Nintendo Switch.
