Galarian Ponyta Can Only Be Found In The Wild In Pokemon Shield

Back during the 24-hour Pokemon Sword and Shield livestream, everything was building up to the reveal of Galarian Ponyta. Now, an image from the next issue of Famitsu has confirmed that not only is this Galarian Ponyta, but it is also exclusive to Pokemon Shield. (Thanks, Serebii!)

While Galarian Ponyta’s typing and some other details haven’t been revealed, its ability has been discerned. This character has Pastel Veil, which protects itself and heals allies who are pulled in to replace it from the poison status effect.

This is the second Galarian form exclusive Pokemon. The Sirfetch’d Farfetch’d evolution will only be found in Pokemon Sword.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will be released on the Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019.
