The X-Men are still heading to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order in 2019. During The Game Awards 2019 preshow, a new trailer was shown for Rise of the Phoenix, the second add-on for the game. It will be released on December 23, 2019.
The Rise of the Phoenix Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 DLC will add Cable, Gambit, Iceman, and Phoenix as playable characters. It will also add a three-part gauntlet that is Dark Phoenix-themed. Phase 1 is Certain Danger, Phase 2 is The Phoenix Rises, and Phase 3 is Fate of the Phoenix. There will also be a Danger Room mode, where red and blue teams fight it out.
This reveal comes after the Japanese eShop changed the release windows for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 DLC. It said the X-Men pack would arrive before April 30, 2020 and the Fantastic Four one before July 31, 2020. The Game Awards trailer gave a Spring 2020 release window for the Fantastic Four pack.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is available on the Nintendo Switch worldwide. As a reminder, you can only get all three Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 DLC expansions if you purchase the $19.99 expansion pass.
