The Wonderful 101 Is Getting A Side-Scrolling Spin-Off

PlatinumGames’ Kickstarter campaign for a remastered release of The Wonderful 101 has crossed $1.5 million in pledges, which means that a spin-off game starring Luka, one of the game’s side characters, will be developed.

Titled “Luka’s First Mission,” this game will be a side-scrolling action title. The concept screenshot above gives one some sense of how it might look, although PlatinumGames points out that it isn’t representative of the final product.

In an update to their Kickstarter, Platinum writes: “This spinoff game will have a completely different style from the main game, so we hope you’re excited to see just what kind of game it’ll end up being!”

The studio did not reveal whether Luka’s First Mission will be included as part of The Wonderful 101: Remastered, or whether it will be a separate game. Additionally, Platinum has revealed another new stretch goal—this one at $2 million—for “Luka’s Second Mission,” which is presumably additional content for the spin-off game.
