Back in February 2020, Informa Tech announced it would be postponing GDC 2020 for the health and safety of all participants in response to COVID-19 coronavirus’ spread. This came after multiple companies, like Sony, Microsoft, and Kojima Productions, decided to not attend. It promised the event would be rescheduled for later in the summer, and there are now new dates. GDC Summer 2020 will be held August 4-6, 2020.
GDC Summer 2020 will have “microtalks and fireside chats,” as well as different conferences to help people in the industry. Two of the days, August 5th and 6th, will involve an expo show floor where people can browse and talk. It also promises meetings and meet ups, opportunities to have people go over portfolios and projects, and different sorts of meeting spaces for networking opportunities.
Pass for the event are already up for sale on the official website. The Conference pass for the full event will be $299 until July 10, 2020, then $499 between July 11-August 3, 2020. At the show, it will be $599. If someone just wants an Expo Pass for the show floor, it will be $99 until July 10, 2020, $129 from July 11-August 3, 2020, and $149 at the event.
GDC Summer 2020 will be held August 4-6, 2020 at San Francisco, California’s Moscone Center. GDC 2020 would have been March 16-20, 2020 at the same place.
