While the Resident Evil Resistance beta was supposed to begin on March 27, 2020, so everyone could get a little taste the Resident Evil 3 multiplayer mode, a hiccup has emerged. The official Twitter account noted matchmaking issues at 4:58am CT on March 27, 2020. Eventually, it followed up to say that issues have delayed the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the open beta.
Capcom is aware of the Resident Evil Resistance beta issues on the PlayStation 4 and PC versions and is working on fixing them. However, it did inform people that the Xbox One version is available and working as intended. In an update at 9:10am CT, it noted that work is being down and apologized, but didn’t offer a release window for a fix.
The open beta is a chance to sample a little of what Resident Evil Resistance has to offer. The Daniel Fabron Mastermind and four of the survivors will be playable in it. (Also, as a reminder, Jill Valentine will eventually be added as a survivor character in an update.)
The Resident Evil Resistance beta is supposed to run until April 3, 2020. It is unknown if this delay will end up altering the end date.
Resident Evil 3 will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3, 2020, though physical copies could be delayed due to shipping issues caused by the pandemic. A demo is immediately available.
