Clannad, one of Key’s more well-known and loved visual novels, is going to get another bit of special treatment outside of Japan. People who wanted the Nintendo Switch version will soon have more options. Preorders for a Clannad Switch Limited Run Games release are about to open on April 14, 2020. Both standard and collector’s editions will be available to order until May 26, 2020.
Limited Run Games first announced the general preorder on April 9, 2020 via Twitter. It then confirmed it will also sell a collector’s edition that is identical to the one that was sold in Japan. This means that if people go with this Clannad Switch Limited Run Games option, they get the standard version’s physical copy, the Clannad Official Guidebook, and a Clannad Arrange Album Mabinogi CD. A price isn’t available for this version yet.
While this is the first official English physical Switch release for Clannad, it isn’t the first time people with the system could get a retail copy in English. The Japanese physical copies have an English language option. It launched in the region last year on July 4, 2019, the same day it appeared digitally in the North American eShop.
Clannad Switch Limited Run physical preorders will open at 9am PT/12pm ET on April 14, 2020. The game is immediately available on the Nintendo Switch worldwide.
