Demon Slayer Tamagotchis Will Launch in October 2020

A new Demon Slayer game is on the way, but you won’t need a console, handheld, or phone to play it. Rather, you’ll have to import a Tamagotchi instead. Bandai has announced a line of Demon Slayer Tamagotchis for Japan. They are expected to launch in October 2020 for 2,300円 (~$22). [Thanks, Game Watch and Tama Town!]

There will be three designs available. The two standard versions of the Demon Slayer Tamagotchi are based on Tanjiro and his sister, Nezuko. These will be available everywhere. However, Amazon Japan will offer a black, purple, and white Demon Slayer Corps design.

Depending on the care you provide for your Demon Slayer Tamagotchi, you’ll end up getting different characters and Hashira. Of course, characters like Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke are options, though it seems like they’ll require exceptional care and certain conditions to acquire. The preview picture shows Giyu, Gyomei, Kyojuro, Mitsuri, Muichiro, Obanai, Sanemi, Shinobu, and Tengen will evolve from a standard Demon Slayer Corps member. All activities and events, as well as special appearances, will be inspired by the series.

Specialized Tamagotchis are incredibly common. The Pac-Man one is available worldwide, as is the Gudetama model. Japan ended up getting an Eevee one in 2019. A Neon Genesis Evangelion Tamagotchi will appear in June 2020.

The Demon Slayer Tamagotchi will launch in Japan in October 2020. As for traditional Demon Slayer games, one is heading to the PlayStation 4 in 2021.
