Neon Genesis Evangelion Fans Can Now Get Their Hands on All Groundwork of Evangelion Volumes Digitally

Fans of the Neon Genesis Evangelion series can now get their hands on the Groundwork of Evangelion books digitally. After twenty years, these three volumes are now available to purchase and own digitally. In addition to this, thirty more pages have been added to these titles. Digital retailers include BOOK☆WALKER, the Kindle Store, and Apple Books. Both Neon Genesis Evangelion Groundwork of Evangelion Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 cost ¥2,000 (or roughly $18) individually. Groundwork of Evangelion Vol. 1 comes in at a total of 256 pages, and Vol. 2 has 288 pages total. Groundwork of Evangelion Vol. 3 has a total of 350 pages. Each volume has been overseen by Hideaki Anno. In addition to this, the Groundwork of Evangelion series will include images of the iconic Evangelion opening, but also illustrations published in magazines. The latest Neon Genesis Evangelion film was slated to release on June 27, 2020 but has since been delayed due to concerns regarding COVID-19. A new release date has yet to be set.

Neon Genesis Evangelion originally began its run in Japan in October 1995. Evangelion: Death (True)2, the edit of 1997’s Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth, appeared in 1998. The End of Evangelion appeared in 1997. The Rebuild of Evangelion films, which offer a different take on the story, began airing in Japan in 2007 with Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone. Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo appeared in 2009 and 2012.
