It really does seem the grabbing a Marvel’s Avengers PlayStation 4 (or eventual PlayStation 5) version could be the best course of action. Sony has announced even more exclusive content on the PlayStation Blog. While these aren’t as elaborate as a whole character, the newest Marvel’s Avengers PlayStation exclusives reveal confirmed special Community Challenges, PlayStation Plus hero bundles, and early access to certain cosmetics.
The Community Challenges are missions where everyone with a copy of Marvel’s Avengers who plays will work together to complete objectives. If players succeed, they get an as-yet-unrevealed sort of reward. Crystal Dynamics Community & Social Media Manager Andy Wong’s PlayStation Blog entry confirmed that there will be Marvel’s Avengers PlayStation exclusive Community Challenges. Only PS4 and PS5 players could participate and, if they succeed, they will get special rewards.
As for the cosmetics, they’re split between PlayStation Plus subscriber bundles for heroes and 30-day access to top-tier cosmetics and actions. (Takedowns are described as being cosmetic abilities.) To be specific, Wong said, “When it comes to cosmetics, PlayStation players will have 30-day exclusive access to a Legendary Outfit, Legendary Emote, Epic Takedown, and nameplate for each Super Hero as they are released–this is also for the six launch heroes.”
With the Marvel’s Avengers PlayStation Plus bundles, these will be items subscribers can redeem from the store. The first will be a Ms. Marvel bundle that includes a Rare Outfit and nameplate. Each of these bundles will also include 100 in-game credits you could use on items.
As a reminder, a few other Marvel’s Avengers PlayStation exclusives were already revealed. The first involved early beta access for PS4 owners who pre-ordered the game, then PS4 owners in general. The second confirmed that Spider-Man would only be playable in the PlayStation versions of the game.
Marvel’s Avengers will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on September 4, 2020. It will also eventually appear on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in time for the 2020 holiday season, with owners of existing console versions getting free upgrades.
