Onee Chanbara Origin Aya Trailer Focuses on Her Fighting Ability

Onee Chanbara Origin’s localization and worldwide release is something we kind of knew was on the way, thanks to a trophy list appearing in October 2019. But now that things are official, we’re seeing more promotional efforts. One is an Onee Chanbara Origin Aya video from Clouded Leopard Entertainment, the Asian publisher, that focuses on the heroine’s moveset and ability.

Since this is a beat’em up, Aya has a standard weapon attack connected to the square button, and you can swap weapons with L2. (So she has one sword or two swords.) Pressing square repeatedly can trigger combos. She also can throw a knife with triangle if she only is wielding one sword. Dodging is of course available, and you can even see the Cool Finish attack that is triggered by pressing square and cross at the same time near a stunned enemy.

Here’s the full Onee Chanbara Origin Aya video.

Now, while the main focus of this video was to show how Aya’s attacks and combos work, there’s something else cool about it. You could hear the kawaii metal group Broken by The Scream’s theme song for Onee Chanbara Origin while you learned how to play. It’s called “Aihakiminomono.” You can hear all of it while seeing the group and even more gameplay in this Japanese trailer.

Onee Chanbara Origin will come to the PlayStation 4 and PC in North America and Europe on October 14, 2020. It will come to Asia on September 24, 2020.
