The time has come to earn a Ryu Kairi costume. That probably sounds weird, but it makes sense. A new Street Fighter V Ryu crossover costume will be available starting September 16, 2020 in Extra Battle. If you earn it, you can get the Fighting EX Layer Kairi costume for him to wear.
In Extra Battle fights, people use Fight Money to participate in special matches to earn premium costumes only available through this mode. Past opportunities included the ability to make Rashid look like Viewtiful Joe and Kage look like Asura from, well, Asura’s Wrath.
Like many fighters in Fighting EX Layer, Kairi first appeared in Street Fighter EX. He was a hidden character in the game and has a fighting style similar to Ryu and Ken’s. Like where Ryu has the Hadoken, he uses a similar Hatsudo. (The Hatsudo’s colors are different, however.)

Street Fighter V is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC. It’s currently a part of the PlayStation Plus September 2020 lineup. The Street Fighter V Ryu Kairi costume will be available in Extra Battle starting on September 16, 2020, but Capcom hasn’t said how long it will be available.
