Ace Combat 7 Premium Edition Trailer Teases New DLC Release Window

Bandai Namco has published a trailer for the Premium Edition of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown. This is a re-release that includes most of the game’s DLC, and it will be released exclusively in Japan on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 5, 2020; a physical release will be available only on the PS4.

The Premium Edition will include the Season Pass that adds three original aircraft (ADF-11F Raven, ADF-01 FALKEN, ADFX-01 Morgan) and a new storyline arc with three missions. It will even include the upcoming Original Aircraft DLC pack that adds three more aircraft (CFA-44 Nosferatu, XFA-27, and ASF-X Shinden) into the roster as well.

However, according to the Japanese product webpage, the Premium Edition will not include the limited digital copy of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War on the PS4 or Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation on the Xbox One, which used to be available as an early purchase bonus when Ace Combat 7 first launched in January 2019.

The most interesting point in the trailer for players outside Japan lies on the fine print at the end of the trailer—as well as the trailer description on the YouTube page. It teases the release timeframe of the new Original Aircraft DLC pack. Previously known to be Fall 2020, this trailer narrowed the release window down to “October 1, 2020, or later”.
