Tekken 7 Season Pass 4

Tekken 7 Kunimitsu DLC Is Part of Season Pass 4

Bandai Namco detailed some of its plans for Tekken 7 Season Pass 4 on the franchise’s Twitch channel. Perhaps the most exciting part of the announcement is the reveal that a take on a fan-favorite ninja character, Kunimitsu, will be made available as part of its DLC.

This character’s potential inclusion was very briefly teased back in July 2020 at the tail end of the announcement trailer for Tekken 7 Season Pass 4, although nobody could be certain it was really her being depicted. As such, today’s official reveal will likely come as a relief for fans who haven’t seen the character in a canonical role since 1996, when the PS1 version of Tekken 2 was released. The only other games that feature this extremely speedy character as a playable character are the non-canonical titles, Tekken Tag Tournament, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and Tekken Revolution. It’s worth noting, however, that this Kunimitsu isn’t the same character fans might know. Tekken 7’s Kunimitsu is actually the daughter of the original Kunimitsu.

Bandai Namco also thanked the community for their part in Tekken 7 having sold 6 million units. It was only earlier in 2020 that the game reached the 5 million units accolade.

The end of the trailer revealed that Season 4 will contain a new stage called “The Vermillion Gates,” which is due out at some point in 2020. The graphic that revealed this stage was only partially populated, though, and seemed to indicate that there are at least two more pieces of Season 4 content coming out in 2021. Additionally, the game will receive improvements to its netcode and a Wi-Fi indicator. An indicator is a commonly requested feature that allows players to view a potential opponent’s connection type before they accept a match.

Tekken 7 was released for arcades in March 2015. It later launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in June 2017.
