Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires Will Be Released in Early 2021

Koei Tecmo has revealed Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires at Tokyo Game Show 2020. This is one of the two new Dynasty Warriors titles revealed at the event; the other one was a game for mobile devices.

The series producer Akihiro Suzuki confirmed in the stream that DW9: Empires will not employ an open world from the original Dynasty Warriors 9. But in a departure from the base-capturing supply line connection system in past Empires games, DW9: Empires will instead focus on Castle Siege battles. The player character will be encouraged to coordinate with other allied officers while deploying siege weapons to capture enemy castles.

More details on DW9: Empires were also revealed from 4Gamer’s interview with Akihiro Suzuki. The character edit system will be not only based on Nioh 2, but it will be improved even further from that. You will be able to edit the character’s costume parts in more detail with more choices of colors and materials. A two-player split-screen mode is also confirmed to be included in this game.
