Genshin Impact Is Apple’s iPhone Game of the Year (Update)

miHoYo nabbed itself another honor. A second Genshin Impact Game of the Year award has come in, this time from Apple. It declared the action-RPG the best iPhone game of 2020. miHoYo later announced everyone would get 800 Primogems, the in-game currency, between December 3-6, 2020 to celebrate.

After winning the award, miHoYo posted an image of it on Twitter. It involved a congratulations note from Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

And here’s the free currency announcement.

This is the second mobile honor. In Japan (and some other countries), it was voted Google Play’s Best Game of 2020. It didn’t get that honor in the United States though, as SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off bested it, Arknights, and The Seven Deadly Sins.

In other news, a new gliding event is about to begin in Genshin Impact. Between December 4-14, 2020, people can challenge seven courses “crafted” by an NPC named Hughes to win Primogems, Mora, Hero’s Witt to dole out XP, and Talent Level-Up Materials to make characters’ attacks and skills stronger.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PC, and both Android and Apple iOS devices. It will come to the Nintendo Switch eventually as well. At the moment, the Zhongli, Xinyan, Razor, and Chongyun banner is active until December 22, 2020.
