The release date announcement also came with biographies and designs of more characters that will play a part in the game’s story, including the protagonist:

  • Ange (25 years old, not voiced) – The game’s protagonist, whose name can also be changed by the player. A third-year worker who always feels like she’s at her limits, even though she works hard every day. She often performs a solitary reflection after returning home.
  • Reina (25 years old, voiced by Ryoko Shiraishi) – Ange’s rival. A perfectionist who does her jobs vigorously. She also thinks highly of the protagonist.
  • Taira (25 years old, voiced by Fumiya Imai) – The brilliant chief researcher who manages other staff at the Royal Research Institute. He comes from the same world as Ange and Reina.
  • Cyrus (28 years old, voiced by Yuuki Ono) – A rather eccentric steward who will look after both Ange and Reina. He does things at his own pace and may also be rather impolite, but he will prepare everything to support Ange’s new life.

Ruby Party has also shared a new trailer to accompany the release date confirmation.

This new Angelique title was first teased at Tokyo Game Show 2019 to mark the 25th anniversary of the otome game series; the first-ever title was released for Super Famicom (SNES) by Koei in September 1994 in Japan. The final title of the new game, Angelique Luminarise, was revealed in July 2020, along with the biographies of nine handsome Guardians that can be dated by the protagonist.

Angelique Luminarise will be available for Nintendo Switch in Japan on May 20, 2021.
