The band, named for summoned creatures from the MMORPG, isn’t simply a cover band. It is comprised of Square Enix employees including lead vocalist, Michael-Christopher Koji Fox, and guitarist, Masayoshi Soken. Koji Fox is known for his work as the localization director for Final Fantasy XIV, while Soken has been the composer for most of the game’s tracks.

The upcoming “Scions & Sinners” album will feature a total of nineteen tracks, eight of which will be performed by The Primals. Their portion of the album will open with “Ultima” and then move on to “Blinding Indigo,” “Equilibrium,” “A Long Fall,” “Return to Oblivion,” “Insatiable,” “What Angel Wakes Me,” and “Shadowbringers.” The rest of the songs on the album will be a collection of piano arrangements.

The band first formed in 2014, and released their debut album, “Out of the Shadows” in 2018. “Scions & Sinners: Final Fantasy XIV Arrangement Album,” will be available on March 24, 2021.

Square Enix also recently announced an expansion for Final Fantasy XIV called Endwalker, which will release in the Fall of 2021.
