Azur Lane SN Murmansk

Azur Lane’s Murmansk Is a Union Shipgirl Serving the Parliament

The official Twitter accounts for Azur Lane have revealed SN Murmansk, one of the new shipgirls set to be added in the upcoming “Khorovod of Dawn’s Rime” event. The Japanese account described the light cruiser shipgirl as smiling at all times, even during battle. Her lack of nervousness may even lead some people to mistake her for a powerful ship.

Murmansk was originally born as CL-5 USS Milwaukee, the second Omaha-class light cruiser. The U.S. loaned her to the Soviet Union in April 1944, which gave her the new name. She was mostly tasked with escorting convoys and rescuing cargo ships throughout her wartime career. The Soviet Union returned Murmansk to the U.S. in March 1949, where she would be eventually sold for scrapping in December of the same year. Prior to World War II, the ship also discovered the deepest point in the Atlantic Ocean, which would be later named Milwaukee Deep.

The Japanese account has also published biographies for SN Gromky, an energetic shipgirl who believes in the power of unison, and SN Gremyaschy, who may look unenthusiastic at first but actually does her jobs diligently. Both Gnevny-class destroyers historically survived World War II but eventually sank after being used as targets for a nuclear test nearby Novaya Zemlya in 1957.

The Android and iOS mobile game Azur Lane will hold the “Khorovod of Dawn’s Rime” event simultaneously worldwide from February 25, 2021, to March 12, 2021.
