A Square Enix collaboration with the pianist Marasy resulted in piano arrangements of Balan Wonderworld music. The pianist made a piano performance of one of the game’s tracks, titled “Hurray!” [Thanks, Famitsu!]
Marasy is a Japanese pianist born in 1990 who currently resides in Nagoya. He found popularity after publishing piano performances of songs from anime shows, video games, and Vocaloid composers on YouTube and Niconico. In recent years, many other corporations have also collaborated with the pianist for piano performances and arrangements.
Marasy published a piano medley of Balan Wonderworld music on his YouTube channel, which currently has over 1.7 million subscribers. The medley consists of five songs in total, with “Hurray!!” also included in it.
On its own YouTube channel, Square Enix uploaded a piano arrangement of “Hurray!!” performed by Marasy. This video is used as an example of a musical performance contest involving the BGM. This contest is held exclusively in Japan, as the company will send prizes to the best submissions inside the country.
A Preshow Version of Balan Wonderworld‘s original soundtrack is immediately available on select digital music platforms, such as Spotify and Apple Music. It also includes both Marasy’s piano medley and the piano rendition of “Hurray!!” The full original soundtrack, containing a total of 93 tracks on 3 CDs, will be released on March 31, 2021.
Balan Wonderworld will be available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 28, 2021. A demo version is currently available worldwide.
