The next Batman game won’t appear in 2021 as expected. The official Twitter account for Gotham Knights announced a delay on March 19, 2021. The game will now appear in 2022. However, Warner Bros. will reveal more details about the game throughout 2021.

The statement about the delay didn’t offer any concrete explanations about why Gotham Knights won’t make its 2021 release window. It was brief and mainly cited concerns about ensuring the title’s quality. Here’s the full statement.

Gotham Knights will now launch worldwide in 2022.

We are giving the game more time to deliver the best possible experience for players. Thank you to our amazing fans for your tremendous support of Gotham Knights. We look forward to showcasing more of the game in the coming months.

Warner Bros. has been rather quiet when it comes to Gotham Knights so far. In 2020, it revealed the voice cast for the game. It will include America Young as Batgirl, Christopher Sean as Nightwing, Sloane Morgan Siegel as Robin, and Stephen Oyoung as Red Hood. One of the most recent 2021 peeks involved a look at Hsix’ Warner Bros Games Montreal mural inspired by the game.

As a result of the Gotham Knights delay, the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC game will debut in 2022.
