Recently, the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie received a US release date for theaters and digital copies. The movie itself crushed Japanese box office records, dethroning Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away as the country’s highest-grossing film of all time. In line with the movie’s release in the West, Viz Media is offering this first volume of the original manga for free in order for readers to catch up on the story.

The manga itself has also seen huge success both in Japan and abroad. The series reached 150 million copies sold worldwide as of February 2021. A second season of the anime adaptation, currently available on Netflix, is also on the way. The new episodes will be set after the events of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train.

Viz Media also offers the rest of the manga via the same digital storefronts, making the offer an entry point for those who wish to read the entire series. The free download is available via ComiXology, Google Play, iBooks, Kindle, and Nook storefronts. The offer will be available until May 23, 2021.
