miHoYo Launches Official Genshin Impact Interactive Map

Guides and maps are among the most common activities of an engaged game’s community. miHoYo is stepping in with an assist, launching an officially sanctioned Genshin Impact interactive map. The new web-based feature was announced on the official Genshin Impact Twitter account:

The map, located at the HoYoLAB community site, takes familiar cues from other fan-made interactive map guides. It displays Genshin Impact‘s world of Teyvat as seen on the in-game map screen. The map is then populated with icons to denote specific resources, monsters, and collectible items like Elemental Oculi. The map also notes the location of things like teleport points, domains, and even landmarks for relatively mundane items like torches, cooking pots, and Seelie courts (probably to assist with fending off the cold in the Dragonspine region). The Genshin Impact Interactive Map even locates enemy spawns in the open world, which is a boon for players that need to obtain monster-related materials like Vishap bones and Fatui knives.

Overall the interactive map could prove useful, given how much of Genshin Impact‘s character progression depends on materials found and gathered out in the open world. Areas with difficult terrain can also make finding things like Violetgrass or Qingxin flowers challenging. And as it’s maintained directly by miHoYo, the map should offer the most up-to-date information about the game proper, without having to wait on other players to input the info. Finally, international players can benefit, as the map includes information in 12 languages including Russian, Thai, and Vietnamese.

The Genshin Impact Interactive Map is available now at the HoYoLAB website. The game itself can be played on PS4, PC, iOS, and Android. The PS5 version went live on April 27, 2021, and a Nintendo Switch version is in development. The latest content update, Beneath the Light of Jadeite, is also live, adding new Hangout Events and a housing system.
