The opening of this latest Metal Slug Code: J video is rather familiar. It shows the same character select screen from the 2020 trailer with Marco, Eri, Tarma, and Fio. From there, we see what it will be like to run-and-gun through the levels. In one of the early segments, we see Marco temporarily gain weight after eating a large meal, slowing him down. In another, he takes on a mummy disguise to deal with foes and get an ability that lets him go down in size. He then saves a POW after dealing with the mummies. There’s also a scene where a traditional Slug fights a larger tank.

Here’s the full look at the TiMi Studio Metal Slug Code: J beta gameplay. In addition to abilities and areas, some of its bosses are shown off.

Metal Slug Code: J is in development for Android and Apple iOS devices. It was announced by SNK Interactive back in June 2020.
