Melty Blood Type Lumina will feature an auto combo system. The official Twitter account released a new gameplay video showcasing how the system will work in the upcoming fighting game. The official website also contains information regarding how the auto combo system will function in Melty Blood Type Lumina.
The auto combo system is referred to as “Rapid Beat” combos. Pressing the attack button repeatedly will execute a simple, but effective, combo. Other systems were detailed as well. This includes the addition of a shielding mechanic that can protect players from incoming attacks.

As mentioned previously, a shield system will appear in Melty Blood Type Lumina. However, players can also utilize the shield mechanic to perform devastating counters. After shielding an attack there will be a window of opportunity to press the attack button to perform a “Shield Counter.”

In a previous broadcast, it was revealed that Melty Blood Type Lumina would also release for PC. Additionally, the broadcast shared that Hisui and Kohaku would be returning characters to the roster of the fighting game.
Melty Blood Type Lumina will come to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC through Steam on September 30, 2021.
